What More?

Patient Update:  Improving slowly.  Mother is much better and her appetite has returned.  Her first request was for a McDonald’s sausage biscuit!  Yes, they are tasty!  She is very weak, but that is expected.  Strength will come back as she is now eating more.

I have been home since late Wednesday.  It is difficult to be away, even when my sister is there, but we are taking turns.  My husband and house and job need me too, at least for a few days.  This is Saturday morning and I am getting ready to go back to Alabama.

My Friday was very interesting.  I am a school teacher in the middle school and Friday was field day.  My students played hard and had a great time.  We did not fair well in the point count, but the real fun for me was the dunk tank.  This was my first time and I decided to imageallow my students and others to have some revenge for my strictness throughout the year.  Yes I was splashed a few times.  Thank goodness the water was warm and the air temperature was hot!  I had fun!

After a few errands that could not be postponed any longer, I turned into my driveway.  As most of us do, I did a quick scan of the front of the house.  My house has a decorative natural rockimage wall all along the front, or should I say had!  When I looked at the bedroom end of the house I found that the a fourth of the wall had fallen!  Thank goodness my husband is calm and reasonable.  He got tarps over it to prevent damage from any rain and said we could get this fixed.  Not to worry.  I needed his variety of calm and rationality!  I was neither!

imageMy grandfather would say that this is just a part of living.  And so it it.  Living is not the easy part of our journey on this earth, but it is interesting.  Maintenance on a house is normal, but timing can be trying.

Challenges in life..part of country living.

I suspect you are a great teacher and for sure, a good sport. Just like parents, being strict is part of being a good and effective teacher.
