A Windy Knoll Report

NOTE; As you all know it is NOT 2014 any longer. This was Mrs. Crumly’s post last January 1st. Thank you again to everyone that still keeps this blog post daily count above 3000 and often above 4000. A BIG HUGE THANK YOU FOR THE DAILY COUNT YESTERDAY…OVER 7000 HITS IN ONE DAY. WOW!!

And so 2013 is history.  I spent some time yesterday reflecting about things I wish I had not done and tried to find some positive things, too.  One of the things I hate most is that I lost two good friends — one by death.  One of the positives is that I furnished 100 preemie caps to Threads of Love to be distributed to Birmingham hospitals.

The old superstition says whatever you do on January 1 you’ll do all year.  Well, I guess we’ll do laundry all year, because that’s what we’re doing today.  As I look ahead, I have big plans for the blog — I can’t wait to do several quilt stories I have in mind and have pictures in hand, but can’t decide just how to say all I need to say.  You know I love quilts.  And then gardening season is just around the corner.  In two or three weeks the Hellebores will begin to bloom and the woods across the road are full of them.

I want to do some videos as well.  One I have in mind is rug making.  All the throw rugs in this house are crocheted and showing wear — the ones here on the sun porch are worn out and I need to do new ones.  I have some fabric on hand — I use strips 1″ – 1/2″ wide — and the fabric has to be cut in strips and then the strips have to be sewn together.

Hang in here with me and we’ll do something.  Be sure you eat the peas and greens today so you’ll have plenty during the year.  Happy Year!
