A Trip to the Hospital
And so today I violate my own rules — no talking about sickness and ailments!!
Remember when I had a stress fracture in my foot? Back in December is when that happened and I went to a podiatrist and much to my dismay she put a heavy boot on my foot. I wore it seven weeks. I even said I stood in danger of loosing my soul over that ********* thing. It was awful and poor John had to put it on, but I could take if off. Perhaps my hip was badly worn and the boot finished it off.
I’ve had lots of difficult walking for some time and about a month ago I had it x-rayed — you guessed it. The hip joint is worn out!!!!!!!!!! Today, Tuesday, April 29, I’m having it replaced. I’m writing this on Monday afternoon and to say I’m antsy would be an understatement. I’m anxious, apprehensive and at least a dozen other adjectives. I don’t want to go, I don’t want to go; however, if I’m to continue walking I have no choice but to have the surgery.
I’ll come home from the hospital rather than go to a rehab facility — John is not capable to staying alone. Of course, he thinks he is but. . . . . The girls have a schedule worked out so they can be of some help. You know, when one works they have to stay close to that job.
I’m leaving the blog with Beth, our daughter, and a good friend — Russ Austin. They may use some pieces that have already been used before or they may write a new article. They are both very capable. While Beth is here I have a computer repair job for her.
I’d love to hear from you if you have time: P. O. Box 280, Geraldine, AL 35974. Your thoughts and prayers are requested, too. Thanks for following Country Living — I’m in awe at the average of 1500+ a day. Stay close — hopefully, we’ll be back to normal in short order. This, too, is country living.
