A Favorite Author

i have always been a reader. If I was sitting, I had a book in my hand. Most of you know that I am a doctoral student at the University of Georgia and there is much reading to do in that pursuit. But I feel deprived if I don’t get to read for pleasure. Working full time, trying to keep my household going, and tending a husband left little time for this particular pleasure  so I decided to rise early for my personal time with a book.

I was hunting something light to read when Mother suggested the “Miss Julia” books. Ann Ross is the author of this series about an elderly woman who encounters problems. Miss Julia is the heroine of the books and she is a delightful Southern woman who lives in the mountains of North Carolina. In the first book Miss Julia discovers that her recently deceased husband fathered a child. The child and the mother become residences of her home and the heartwarming trials begin. Miss Julia is wam and caring and a woman of the old south!

If you are looking for a fun, light, and easy read, try Miss Julia. You will find a laugh, a tear, and sheer pleasure in the time spent reading these fabulous works.
