In reply to Emily Porter. I think this is a great idea...I would also like the instructions for the edging. I too have search the internet for instructions and could not locate a pattern that I liked as well as the one your mother made.

Donna, Mother and I both treasure our lacelet. Mine was a wedding gift 39 years ago. Got rid of the husband but kept the lacelet! I also can’t decorate my Christmas tree without Billie’s snowflake and bird nest.

I am sitting here looking at the lacelet Billie made for us probably 40 years ago. Nobody to pass it to after my kids. Maybe a grand daughter will use the name for a boy down the line! It will still be treasured in this family!

Donna, Mary Margaret and I each have one that Billie gave us several years ago, and, needless to say, each of us treasures the lovely work and the fact that Billie spent so much time doing this for us.
An idea for figuring the letters might be for those of us who have them to send you the count in the letters in our names and compile a pattern book. I’ll bet that between all she has made there would be a whole alphabet!
