After we moved to Alabama, we would make trips back a couple times a year, always making sure one of those trips was in the fall during apple picking time. Empire became my favorite apple. Just tart enough to make a good pie and was also good for hand eating and apple salad. Enjoyed the Crow Mountain adventure story. Love that curvey road up the mountain!!! Probably a great view if you could take your eye off the road long enough to look!!
