That’s the Winter the lake at Guntersville froze solid enough for people to walk on and even drive cars on. We had cold and snowy Winters in the past more than we’ve had recently. The blizzard of ’93 was definitely one to remember; my husband was dying of cancer and we lost electricity, piled every quilt I had on his hospital bed since we heated with it; had to walk to the end of my driveway (300′) where my pharmacist met me with needed medicine. He had a 4-wheel drive and had told me he would attempt to get that far; certainly a wonderful, caring person to brave it for us.
