I’m from Bessemer, AL and “Branchwater kin” has been a phrase I’ve used many times over the years. I am in the process of writing a bunch of old timey tales and used the term today. I decided to “Google” the phrase today and came up with your blurb.

These days I am a little further off the middle of the road than I have ever been. Folks have said “Ken ain’t right” most of my life but now days they say “Ole Ken ain’t right.” You’d have to read a book I’ve just completed to realize just how “Ain’t right” I am. The tale is called “Marijuana Dreamin’.”

BTW, I left Alabama the day after I graduated from college. I’ve lived in Florida most of the time since 1963.
